As you will already know, as a model you need one thing above all else: A meaningful comp card!
But how do you get beautiful photos as an amateur model without much model experience? The simple answer is TFP shoots!
If you did not already have one, you should apply for a TFP-shooting today and get your personal shoot soon!
"Time for prints" is a common term in the photography and fashion world. But what does it actually mean? Read more here.
Win-win situation – how everyone benefits
"Time for prints" or simply called 'TFP' is especially popular with hobby photographers and amateur models. Because a TFP shoot is a completely free photoshoot. Neither the photographer nor stylist or the model has to pay anything for each other's services. Sounds great, doesn't it?
During a TFP shoot, you can gain your first experiences in the model business and try yourself in front of the camera.
Modelling is certainly not easy and posing requires intense training. With a photographer, you will receive valuable tips during a TFP shoot and especially learn how your facial expressions, gestures and posing work on the pictures!
References and model experience is, of course, important for large orders and is usually also assumed by the model. Nobody can take your experiences away from you and lay the foundation for a model career!
Unique photos for the Comp card – and even for free!
In order to arouse interest among clients and increase your chances for jobs, you have to convince with your Comp card pictures!
Namely large advertising agencies and experienced professional photographers use to attach much importance to beautiful comp cards and wouldn't book models with just amateurish photos.
In a professional shoot, you can get the best out of yourself and learn to put yourself in a really good way. Furthermore, you also create new contacts and get deeper insights into the fashion world! This is a great starting point to create long-lasting collaborations. What would be better? :)
Shoot, convince & get jobs
Professional photos that emphasise your personality give you a unique profile – one that stands out!
go-models professional tips:
Share your own ideas with the photographer and get actively involved in shootings! Also, with TFP shoots it is important that you are punctual and show up for the shooting in time. Photographers often work together and recommend new models to each other!
If you write to photographers directly for a TFP shoot, create an application with a personal touch! Tell us something about yourself, your motivation and what you would like to try out during a shoot. Simple requests are often ignored by photographers or may get lost in the crowd.
How does a TFP shoot work?
Many photographers and stylists rely on a short conversation with you beforehand, whether in person or by phone. In this way, even more, precise ideas can be discussed and you get to know each other better. The "chemistry" must also be right between model and photographer in order to achieve great photos.
Before most TFP shoots, you must sign a TFP contract, where you will find all the conditions and information. This serves the photographer and you as a model again for protection!
Now you are top-informed and future TFP shoots will not stand in the way of anything for you. Take action and aim for a TFP-shooting to have your personal shoot as soon as you can.
